Outdoor weddings are often magical and unforgettable events and yet they bring some not-so-magical realities when it comes to planning from bare logo tents needing to be decorated to a gazillion cars and no place to park them all Yet despite all of the pitfalls, planning an outdoor wedding reception is well worth the time and effort.
Outdoor weddings beneath custom printed canopies both are romantic and beautiful. However, planning one and seeing it through isn’t quite as easy as you may think. A wedding reception held outside with graphic tents comes with its own set of caveats and pitfalls
. Try a few of these following tips, and you’ll be sure to shine on the day of your wedding. Location and size Once you’ve found a few local pop up tent vendors, it is important to consider the size of the location where your wedding reception is being held. If this particular outdoor location has limited space to hold graphic tents, you may be force to look elsewhere. When measuring the area, keep in mind that larger logo tents require space on all sides of the tent for poles and such. Guests The amount of guests is the next point to consider. The size of the guest list plays a huge role in the size of the logo tents you’ll need. If your reception is smaller and more intimate, smaller printed canopies are more suitable.
Larger crowds will mean larger tents, obviously. Figure out the number of people you will need for your logo tents to accommodate everyone comfortably. Be sure to allot for everything requiring space such as dance floors, stages, banquet tables and such. Theme Think about what type of reception you are holding. Is it a sit-down dinner with round tables or banquet tables? Is your reception going to more cocktail party and need only a few tables and chairs? Time and season The time and season your reception is an important factor to think about when the printed canopies and tables set up as well as the amount of lighting needed. If your reception takes place in the afternoon with a cocktail party set-up, smaller custom printed canopies with no additional lighting are perfectly acceptable.
Now you can see why many people are choosing an outdoor wedding beneath printed canopies as opposed to the traditional and boring indoor type. A beautiful reception under logo tents with a sunset in the backdrop is much more personal than any hotel ballroom. It allows being more creative from the start and creating the atmosphere. It’s the wedding you always dreamed about from start to finish.

Canopy Ecology: Its Vital Importance

Startling statistics
It is estimated that every minute over 100 acres of tropical forests get deforested! As if that wasn’t shocking enough, an entire population vanished on the island of Rapa Nui when acute deforestation happened. Just like Cretaceous life went extinct over 65 million years ago the same story might just repeat itself. If deforestation continues at the current rate, we humans would have irreparably damaged the earth and our environment. Then there will be no hope for restoration.
Canopy preservation
Considering that the forest canopy is a vital place to keep the ecosystem balanced, provide aesthetic natural beauty and supply food, nourishment and shelter to innumerable life forms, it is high time we started conserving this elixir of life! More than 100 species become extinct every single day! It is also estimated that more than half the forests of the world are now deforested. It is time we started a collective effort to salvage whatever remains of our earth before it gets too late.
Educating laypersons
While scientists and environmentalists know a lot about the forest canopy the laypersons do not have sufficient knowledge on the subject. Hence adequate education is critical in order to spread awareness about methods to preserve the forest canopy. One good way to start is by creating a sense of fascination at the elaborate ecosystem on the forest canopy. Once non-scientists begin to see how life is interconnected especially on the canopy they will admire nature more and strive to protect the canopy. It is all about instilling a sense of empathy and connecting with nature. Once that happens there will be a stronger will to protect and preserve the canopy and prevent deforestation.
More trees
Planting more trees is critical because only then can we restore the damage done to the forests to a certain extent. If each person plants a single tree in his or her lifetime it would create a huge difference in the environment. Young children need to be encouraged about the beauty and importance of nature. Educational programs can be initiated along with practical classes where children plant more trees as part of the curriculum. This is an innovative method to start protecting the environment. It will also ensure that the children of tomorrow will have more respect and tolerance towards nature and living beings. More laypersons need to be encouraged to view life and forests from the tops of trees. This will provide a much better perspective of things.

It’s not enough just to buy great patio furniture. In order to get the full enjoyment you need to make sure you have all the things that go with it. If you are buying a table and chair set, you’ll need a good umbrella in addition to making sure you have enough room to seat the whole family. If you are getting some chairs and a settee, you’ll need some end tables and maybe even a coffee table. Either way all your furniture will need great cushions and protective coverings.
Patio Umbrellas
No matter what type of patio furniture you have, an umbrella is a must to keep you out of the hot rays of the sun. You can invest in a wide variety of umbrellas and materials to create the cool place in the shade you have always wanted. Be sure to pick an umbrella that is sturdy to hold up against winds and that has a durable fabric. Sunbrella is the ultimate in out door fabric because of its breathable as well as durability against the harshest weather.
If your patio furniture doesn’t have a mechanism to hold a patio umbrella, an offset pole patio umbrella is a great way to move with the sun. You can place it over your patio furniture set while you dine on your morning brunch or have it over your chaise while you sip a cool drink in the afternoon.
Patio Cushions
When buying cushions for your patio furniture it is important to get materials that are comfortable, long lasting, weather resistant and beautiful. You should make sure your cushions have the right density per size to maximize it’s drainability and let water pass through it easily. If you go for cushions that are dacron wrapped, you’ll be sure to get almost the same comfort you get in your living room. Your patio furniture cushions shouldn’t feel like a flat box but should create an element of comfort and support for your back, dry out quickly when the get wet and last for years.
Patio Furniture Covers
When bad weather is on the horizon or at the end of the season, you’ll want to protect your patio furniture with covers. Most outdoor covers are designed to be durable and withstand harsh weather. Since you want your covers to stay on, you should buy only furniture covers that have a Velcro fastening system. For durable covers, purchase UV treated fabric so you never have to worry about deteriorating due to the strength of the sun.
Your cushions need special protection from unwanted dust and heaven forbid the nesting of insects or other small rodents. Your best bet is to store them inside in the off season, but if you must leave them out be sure the are protected in a sealed cover.

The Wise Homeowner’s Choice - Aluminum Patio Covers!

Though patio covers can be made from a number of materials, the excellent durability and zero maintenance of aluminum patio covers make them the prime choice of wise homeowners. The value addition to the house is quite appreciable when it comes time to move.
A patio is the best way to enjoy the outdoors. You’re protected from sun and rain and yet you can enjoy the breeze and an unobstructed ‘window-less’ view of the world at large. Aluminum is much stronger than other patio materials. So it is better able to protect you from weather phenomena like rain, snow and hail.
The aluminum patio cover is easy to keep clean. A solution of soap and water is ideal for cleaning an aluminum patio cover, though you may opt for a cleaning solution that’s specially formulated for cleaning aluminum. Take a brush with a handle long enough to reach the top of the aluminum patio cover. The aluminum patio cover slopes downwards at an angle and you can easily reach every part of the patio cover with the cleaning brush.
Rainwater can run off the aluminum patio cover and collect in puddles. A drainage system is an advantage to have. The drainage system allows the rainwater to flow off easily and conveniently away from the patio area. Have one installed when you’re getting the aluminum patio cover installed.
Aluminum patio covers need not look uniformly ‘aluminum white’. Select from a range of factory-painted styles and patterns to suit the exterior appearance of your house. Or, you can add a personal touch by painting it yourself. Paint takes well on aluminum, spreading evenly, so you will enjoy painting the aluminum patio cover. You can use a solid color for it, or you can get let your imagination run riot!
An aluminum patio cover is an investment that is its own reward! Choose the style and design that really suits your house and your personality. You will spend many mornings and evenings sitting beneath the aluminum patio cover, enjoying the fresh air, enjoying the flowers growing in your garden, watching the sun rise, watching the sun set! The joy that you’ll experience is well worth the investment. What’s more, in real dollar terms, the aluminum patio cover will return every penny you spent on installing it. Now that’s called great value for money!
Budget restrictions may make you look at patio covers made of materials other than aluminum. This may turn out to be a ‘penny wise, pound foolish’ strategy. You will spend as much on maintaining these patio covers as you did on buying them in the first place. If you do have to replace the patio cover, which is a distinct probability, then you’ll end up paying thrice its retail price! Instead of adopting this non-aluminum strategy you should look for cheaper models of aluminum patio covers. You’re sure to find one that suits your budget, though it may take a little extra time and effort. Be wise, get an aluminum patio cover and forget maintenance costs, replacements, and the weather! Now let’s do something about that pesky fly…!
